Persian & Oriental rugs are one of a kind
And they need one of a kind treatment!
Persian and Oriental rugs are some of the finest-crafted masterpieces in the world. Their prices range from the hundreds to the tens of thousands depending on the rugs craftsmanship, location of origin, and materials used. Master Cleaners is proud to offer the best cleaning services for these types of rugs.
Because these rugs are so special in creation, they require a very skilled cleaning, maintenance and repair to ensure their longevity, strength, durability, and appearance. Cared for properly, these rugs can easily outlast several generations of use in the home - even in heavily trafficked areas of the house. Not just any cleaning process will suffice, however. It takes a master cleaner who understands the construction, the fabrics, the threading, the fringing, the colors, and the best way to preserve each of these aspects of a rug.

Persian & Oriental Rug Cleaning Process
While we utilize a similar process to standard area rug cleaning, the level of detail and care taken for your passed-down or expensively purchased rug has to be the greatest. Our color fastness test ensures a proper cleaning method. No two rugs are the same, especially as it relates to Oriental & Persian rugs! During this testing we'll properly assess the most efficient and stress-free way to treat the rug without putting it through unnecessary stress.
Common rug cleaning approaches utilize harsh cleaning and stain-removal methods - while these methods may visually appear to work, they do damage to the infrastructure. We don't believe in quick fixes. We take our time. We work slowly and steadily to give your rug a proper and gentle cleaning, inside and out.
Before you 'do it yourself' - Just know that this is very unlikely to be the best option to clean your rug. Many DIY Oriental rug cleaning guides out there will recommend techniques that may make the rug look clean, but these techniques do additional damage to the rug's foundation (the part you don't see). When the foundation gets damaged, it will make future cleaning jobs less effective, and the integrity of the rug will degrade over time. Likewise, many store-bought cleaning supplies will aggravate your rug with harsh chemicals and cheap chemicals. These chemicals are not intended for fine quality rugs! As the quality and craftsmanship of the rug goes up, the more professional the cleaning and maintenance needs to be. You wouldn't feel a house-plant chlorinated water from a pool, right? That analogy is quite appropriate when cleaning rugs - you have to think about what style of fabrics, threading, and fibers are used in the rug's creation. This is all assessed for you when you receive our Persian & Oriental rug cleaning services via color fastness testing.
60 Years of Experience Cleaning Rugs
We have cleaned a lot of rugs in the past half-century since we started our company back in 1947. In that time, we've mastered the delicate cleaning process for thousands of styles and varieties of quality rugs. Likewise, we're well aware of what techniques from back then work, and what newer techniques work better -- we're always on top of the science and technology that goes into a delicate cleaning process. This allows us to benefit from our history of five-star cleaning service as well as taking advantages of developments in the upholstery, carpet, and rug cleaning industries to benefit our customers.
In the past sixty years we've built a library of knowledge to best treat any one of thousands of rug styles. Many rug cleaning companies employ a 'once-size-fits-all' approach to cleaning Oriental & Persian rugs, but those techniques may not restore the rug 100%, they may place too much stress on a delicate rug, and they may cause fibers to wear down and colors to fade. We believe that a cleaning service should bring your rug back to a better condition than when you brought it in; a stain should not cut years of life off your rug if properly treated, so we go above and beyond to ensure that the quality of your rug remains intact.
